2011 Trip across the US

Other Trips
A quiet Saturday. After breakfast & the paper (on my iPad) I pretty much sat around reading, took a break for a shower just after lunch, then went to watch the Atlatl competition. While there I also climbed the staircase to see the petroglyphs in the area.
I stopped at the Visitor Center and met Diane & Dennis Petersen showing their Native American flutes. Beautifully made and sounding, but, sadly, not for sale. They do sell CDs of Dennis' music, which can be heard at Diane's Photo Website: www.originalimages.zenfolio.com (which is well worth visiting for the images as well as the music).
After that I drove out to the parking lot for Mouse's Tank, a short hike along a path lined with petroglyphs. The "tank" is a pool formed by the sandstone rocks that holds rain water for a long time. Named after a native that used the area as a hideout.
After that it was back to the campground and more reading & trying to get a good balance between the sun, shade, and wind. Full sun is too hot, full shade too cool with the wind - you can't be satisfied!
