Saturday, December 12, 2015, Rancho Sedona RV Park & Scamp Camp, AZ, Day 2, 0 Miles, 3,815.5 Miles for the Trip

Well, it rained off & on most of the night, including a bit of thunder & lightning. I woke up to large drips coming off the overhead trees, slid up the blinds on the back window, and was greeted by a layer of white. Just about everything was covered with a thin layer of snow.

We slowly gathered at the end of the campground prior to starting the trailer tours. We canceled my Digital Photography workshop - too cold & too much rain. We will try again later in the day. I'll post this now & add more as the day goes on.

Well, the "later in the day" didn't happen. While the weather cleared up a bit, it was still pretty cold, and the Sedona Christmas activities picked up. I did make a round of the trailers, trying to shoot each of them, with the owners if they were available.

After that I walked around downtown, took a couple of photos of the view along the road, then went to the Festival of Lights at the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village. Lots of stages with performers, Christmas lights & six thousand luminaries (paper bags with candles inside). Lots of photos both before & after a Fajitas dinner at the Rincon Del Tlaquepaque Mexican Restaurant. The dinner was great, the lights OK, although I've done the luminaries with white bags instead of brown ones and they are far more impressive (and brighter) in white bakery bags. Still, a commercial, but nice party.

I got back to the trailer around 6:00 & posted the rest of today's page. While I originally planned to stay Sunday, the weather report is for another storm with colder temperatures to arrive on Monday, so I am leaving tomorrow to head back to Quartzsite.

Until Tomorrow -
