Monday, October 29, 2018 - Faywood Hot Springs Resort, Deming, NM - 3.3 Miles, 5,529.6 Miles for the Trip

I packed up the rest of the trailer, my 9'X12' doormat, stove, etc and was ready to leave around 10:00. Since that was a bit early (official check in time at Faywood is 2:00) I sat around for an hour, then headed out.

While Faywood Hot Springs Resort is anything but a "Resort", it also doesn't charge resort prices. $27.44 for a full hook up site, although it is the first campground that has an extra charge for more than one person  (maybe because the use of the hot springs is free to campers). In any case, I'm in a pull through (site 17) on gravel. Along with the campsite photo, I included one of the reflection of a Yucca in my entry door window taken at City of Rocks.

The site is a short walk to the bathroom & shower (yes, just one of each) and a bit longer walk to the hot springs. The have both clothing required, and clothing optional pools (as well as a clothing optional section of the campground). I did some soaking in one of the hot springs - not the nicest, but far from the worst I've been to. After a half hour of so, it was back to the trailer for some lunch & reading, then, after my 3:00 eye drops, back to the hot spring.

After a shower, thankfully with hard water, at least compared to that at City of Rocks so it didn't take 15 minutes to rinse, I sat outside reading until dinner time. Dinner was a microwaved Tai Pai Orange Chicken. While the chunks of chicken were barely recognizable, the rest of the meal was pretty good for microwaved Chinese food. A couple of advantages over most of the frozen Chinese dinners is that it included the rice, and was actually sized for one person.

Until Tomorrow -
