Today is Zoo day. Although Valerie would rather go to the Tidal Basin & take another chance on a dragon ride on the merry-go-round, we decided to put that off until Saturday when we go to see the parade.
So, pack things up & hop on the Metro Red Line!
Lots of photo opportunities at the zoo, however it was pretty crowded & many animals were behind glass making sharp images difficult. At least one advantage of the large crowd - they did an elephant demonstration, usually only done on weekends. It was also hot - Valerie had a wonderful time running through the mist sprayers!
Anyway, here is a day at the zoo:

On the way back to the Metro we passed a sign I couldn't ignore:

We are home & will probably go out for Pizza tonight.
