This time we left Brian behind (he had to work) & with Karin, headed to Glacier National Park. The plan is to head up the eastern side of Flathead Lake, taking MT 35 rather than US 93, the way we drove from the park to Missoula last week. Although MT35 is a prettier road than US 93, it has quite a bit of logging truck traffic, trucks that I firmly believe they believe the road was built for them. Who knows, maybe it was, but they sure fly down the road with little interest in sharing, and you don't want one of them behind you!

On the way we took a little side trip to see the Garnet Ghost Town. The road into (or should I say up to) the ghost town is interesting - I don't know the official grade, but it is a 11 mile, very uphill drive on a gravel road. The old van was huffing & puffing by the time we reached the top!

We stayed in the Apgar Campground, Site B82 on the West side of Glacier.
