No walk this morning - we are going to pick up Karin & Brian at the airport at 9:00. No, 9:15. No, 9:35. No, 9:45. No, 10:30. Actually, the plane came in around 11:00. At least we could do most of the waiting at home, checking US Air's web site for the expected arrival time. I think someone needs to write some software that lets you enter an airline, flight number & the amount of time you want before arrival - your computer will let you know when to leave for the airport. Since most planes are late these days, it would be useful.
Nantucket Airport no longer looks like it did in the TV program "Wings". It is larger, busier, but still a small relaxed place. The platform at the bottom of the center image is the baggage kiosk. The baggage handlers pull the cart by hand from the airplane to the gate, slide the gate open & toss the bags onto the platform.

After the airport we made a couple of food shopping stops, ate lunch, and headed for the beach. Yes, it is finally warm enough for a day at the beach! Well, almost... As we hit the end of the road to Miacomet, we faded into fog. Bright sunshine at the house 2 miles away, fogged in at the beach. We decided to stay & it wasn't too bad. Good waves, cool water - alright very cold water, but refreshing! Carol insisted in at least one belly photo of Karin (she is expecting our first grandchild in late December).

After the beach it was home for showers & dinner - Luann's Broccoli Quiche.
