The Oswego lighthouse has quite a history (See "The Lighthouse Digest") I love taking photographs of it because it continually presents a new & different image each time I see it. The changes in sky, the lake and the seasons all provide an infinite variety of backgrounds. More lighthouse photos further down the page

Rudys Opens!
Although many have their own idea of when Spring is here, in Oswego it isn't the daffodils come up (mine are about 1" high), or the snow is gone (I still have a pile in front of the house & we are suppose to get 1" tonight), its the day Rudys opens. It doesn't matter that there is still ice in the lake or the waves are 4' high; fish sandwiches, Texas Hots, and all the favorites are back:

HMS Detroit October 19, 2008
The replica hull of the HMS Detroit finally made it across Lake Ontario yesterday after clearing customs in Kingston, Ontario. After spending the night in the Oswego Harbor, the tug M.R. Kane pushed the hull through the Oswego section of the Erie Canal.
