August 1, 2001 (0mi) - First Waterfalls

The RV spent the day at the Promised Land - we took Don & Anne's van to explore the Delaware Water Gap & see some waterfalls. Although August is not the best month of the year for waterfalls (actually, it is probably the worst since it is pretty dry) we did find Raymondskill & Dingman Falls. At 105', Raymondskill Falls is the highest waterfall in Pennsylvania. Located south of Milford, PA, off PA Route 209, it is a short walk from the parking lot to the top falls. It is made up of three sections - I didn't get photos of each, but believe the 1st & 2nd below are Raymondskill (A note to myself - Keep better records! it is difficult to figure which is which 5 years after the trip.)

After Raymondskill falls, we moved on to Dingman Falls. We also walked by the Silver Thread Falls, but there wasn't any water coming over it so no photos.

After checking out the falls, it was back to the Promised Land & a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we are heading for Easton, PA to check out the Crayola Factory.
