August 9, 2001 (152 miles) What's an Ohiopyle?

We are off to Fallingwater. By the way, another thing in the "Needed in the next RV list (besides one that starts)" - a bigger shower/tub. I don't mind the slow shower or the limited hot water, but there isn't enough room to turn around! About the only smaller shower I've seen is on the ferries to Nova Scotia. Well, after showers & breakfast we tried again to visit Fallingwater. On the way we drove by Ohiopyle State Park. The park includes part of the Youghiogheny River Gorge & the Ohiopyle Falls. We stopped for lunch & a few photos.

Not too much further we pulled into the parking lot for Fallingwater. I have always been impressed by Frank Lloyd Wright's work, and this is my favorite. Until now, I've never had the chance to visit the home; it is even more impressive to walk through than viewing photographs. After the tour we walked down to one of the often photographed viewing sites.

After Fallingwater, we headed back to Cumberland, PA to pick up Don & Anne's van, put 45 gallons of gas in the RV, and camped for the night in site 21 at Friendship Village Campground in Bedford, PA.
