The 2021 4th (or Maybe 5th) Annual Spring Fling in New England, Chocorua Camping Village KOA, NH

I'm not sure if this should be called the 4th or 5th Spring Fling rally - while some individuals arrived at the KOA during the scheduled rally dates in 2020, it was canceled for anyone from out of New Hampshire due to Covid restrictions.

Anyhow, it is happening this year.

Thursday, May 13th -

The first "official" day of the rally is today. I picked up my packet of stuff for 2021, and, since I wasn't here last year, one from 2020. After that I made a round of the campground taking a bunch of photos:

The first event (other than registration) was a wine & cheese get together (with masks except while eating, which, I have to admit, was most of the time - but most of us were well past our 2nd vaccination) at the pavilion.

Friday, May 14th -

An early morning because some tree trimmers fired up a chipper across the pond - sounded like it was next door.

Among the planned activities today was a cooking demo by Gerry, the rally host. I doctored up caned corn - very good!

The Cooking Demo

After the cooking demo I made a round of the campground to photograph some of the new arrivals.

While there wasn't a pot luck, the early plan was for Gerry to make spaghetti & meatballs for all. Instead, to promote social distancing, he made baked beans, coleslaw & garlic bread. I made a blueberry pie for Anne, Don & myself, but shared with those willing to take a chance.

We also had some magic tricks, a 50/50, and a bunch of stuff given away with a raffle.

Saturday, May 15th -

Many of us had the KOA breakfast (except Don - they lost his order). After that we walked up to the office to make reservations for next year. It took a couple of tries to get it right, but we are now reserved for 6 days in 2022.

It is a beautiful day with sunshine and temperatures in the low 70's. After showers we had lunch, then sat around for most of the afternoon. I did make another loop around the campground to try to get some photos of people rather than trailers with some success.

While today is the official last day of the rally, I'll try to add a couple of photos of people leaving tomorrow.

Sunday, May 16th -

Well, I didn't do a good job of photographing those leaving - between breakfast, sitting around talking, and ducking a couple of brief rain bursts, I never got around to switching lenses. I had my 80 - 400mm lens on the camera from attempting to take photos of the loons on the pond. By the time I managed to get to the truck and switch to the longer lens, they were pretty much out or range, but I do have one:

The Loon

That is it for this year's Spring Fling. My next scheduled rally is the Algonac State Park in early September, followed by the Wine Escape Rally in Niagara Falls, Ontario (if the border opens), although I will have a couple of trips during the summer.
