Saturday, August 26, 2017 - Yakima Sportsman State Park, Yakima, WA, Day 4 & Mt Rainier, 0 Miles, 318.2 Towing Miles For the Trip
While the trailer didn't go anywhere, the truck did - about 230 miles. I decided to visit Mt Rainier. While I've been there a couple of times, it just didn't seem right to be this close without stopping by. I will say that a Saturday, the week before labor day is probably not the best time to visit. Many pull offs were full, as well as the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center parking lot. In fact, the on-the-road parking past the center was filled for at least a mile.
Still, I did stop for a few photographs even though there was no opportunity for a "T" shirt.
The First Viewpoint
|Panorama From Reflection Lake (3.1MB Version)|
This is the third time I stopped by the Reflection Lakes, and I guess you need to get there at dawn to get a calm surface. There are always enough surface ripples to blur the reflection.
On the way home I stopped to refill my grill propane tank, a 1 gallon bottle. I felt a bit guilty since the they had to get the guy from Subway to cover the cash register while the attendant went out to pump 1 gallon of propane - they probably lost as much hooking up & disconnecting the system.
Dinner was a Subway chicken sub & a Cobb salad.
Until next time -
