Sunday, September 2, 2018 - Dakota Ridge RV Resort, Golden, CO, Day 3, 0 Miles, 3270.1 Miles for the Trip
We got a slightly earlier start than normal, arriving at Dick & Anne's at 8:55. The plan was for a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, and we wanted to leave early to attempt to beat the traffic. Things were not too bad until we hit the park. Check the photo of the backed up traffic at the entrance station. 1.2 miles of backup. It was moving fairly quickly, thanks to a separate lane for pass holders. When we got close to the station, we were waved through using Dick's Senior Pass.
I took lots of photos, including a couple of panoramas. There was some haze in the air from smoke, but for the most part it was a nice day for the trip.

We drove the length of the Ridge Road, returning to Golden on US 40 & I 70.
We got back to Dick & Anne's around 6:00, and had cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, sweet potato fries & blueberry shortcake for dessert.
