A note on Photographs - All of us are taking pictures - I'll do my best to give photo credits with an initial, but if I miss one be sure to let me know! J = Jon, D = Don, A = Anne & C = Carol. You can usually tell Anne's - her camera puts the date on the image! Also, most of the images are scans of old & faded prints, so the quality may not be all that hot. June 7 - Off to the Shenandoah National Park (129mi)
We left early this morning to head out to Front Royal & the Skyline Drive (well, kind of early - alright, we got out by noon!) Anyway, the drive is great. A two lane road wandering through many hills & valleys - that funny smell is Jon's brakes until he remembered how to drive long down hills. We are either a bit late or early to see the rhododendron in bloom, but the bushes are huge & look like they are beautiful when in season.

We stopped for the night at the Big Meadows Campground in the Shenandoah National Park, Site P2. We will be here for 2 days while we explore the area. Did mention that it is raining? I don't know why, but we could plan a trip hitting hotels & motels & it would be dry, but as soon as we get out a tent it insists on raining. Tomorrow the plan is to go to Luray Caverns.
