The Oswego Harborfest is an annual event that draws well over 100,000 people to the Lake Ontario waterfront community for 4 day festival. There are entertainment stages located throughout the city, as well as juried arts & crafts, an antique show & sale, food booths, a midway with rides, and a 23 minute "Fireworks by Grucci" show on Saturday night presented by Entergy.
Well, officially, opening day was Thursday, but I started today. First stop was at the H Lee White Maritime Museum to see the US Brig Niagara. Free tours of the ship are available throughout Harborfest.

After the Niagara I headed towards Breitbeck Park. On the way I passed the the midway. It has been moved from the port Authority dock to the Coast Guard parking lot. No ferris wheel this year, but lots of rides:

Although Harborfest is the biggest celebration in the area this weekend, it isn't all that is going on. This is also the weekend of the 11th Gulliver's Wilderness Airpark Flyin. Located at 1222 Red Schoolhouse Road, East of Oswego off of Route 104, there will be demonstrations of Experimental, Light Sport Aircraft, Gyros & Ultralights. Here is a link to my 2008 Flyin page.

Once I reached Breitbeck Park it was time to visit the food vendors and exhibitors. Many new exhibitors, including a bunch of booths sponsored by AARP. I spun the wheel & go a free "T" shirt!
