We will see how it goes. The predications are for rain tonight - hope it holds off until after the fireworks. They shoot them off, raining or not, but it is tough shooting pictures in the rain!

First, it is time to set out a tarp at the desired location. Time - 5:00AM! The official rules are no tarps until the day of the fireworks, however there were many out when I left yesterday.Even thought the word is they will be removed, they were still there when I arrived bright & earl (well early). Anyhow, my favorite spot was already taken so I am on the right side of the stairway just in front of the control station for the Grucci Team. I guess I'll see what ever they do...

Back home for a couple of hours of sleep. They close off all the roads north of Bridge Street (State Route 104) at 5:00 to try to control parking & traffic. Since they expect somewhere between 100,000 & 250,000 people to show up for the fireworks, that is probably a good idea. I parked at the H. Lee White Maritime Museum. It is fairly central, and they can use the $5.00. Walked around the park & midway getting a few new photos:

A band of pirates seems to have taken over the east end of Breitbeck Park:

The next stop was for the yearly Gyro. They taste great, but I have a suspicion that an entire day's calories are in one Gyro. After that I walked back to the museum to pick up my tripod & settled in for the fireworks. A little early, but I had a good time talking with the people around me, including a short visit with New York's Senator Schumer. Govenor Paterson was arround earlier, but I missed him. I did take some photos while waiting:
