Day 31, Tuesday, November 18, 2025 - Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, TX, Day 2 - 0 Miles, 2,418.4 Miles for the Trip
Another cool but not cold night, going down to 54°F and short runs of the electric heater. I did my morning walk around the park. Lots of folks left this morning - there are quite a few one nighters here as well as what looks to be well established set ups for the winter.
After breakfast I headed to the laundry room. 2 loads, $1.50 to wash & $2.00 to dry. 45 minutes on high for the dryer didn't quite get the job done; my towel and a few "T" shirts are still damp. The humidity is low enough at 37% in the trailer that the towel will finish drying hanging on the bathroom door.
After lunch I called Sirius/XM Radio to renew my 6 month subscription. They are pushing an $8.90 per month deal but that is more expensive than the $40.00 I'm currently paying so I asked for the same & they went with it. I'm not sure it is really worth it for me since I tend to use internet radio in the trailer (although I do use their Sleep Channels on their app some times at night) but it is handy to have when there is no internet. Of course since I have Starlink now it is going to be very rare when I don't have an internet connection, but I'll keep track of how much I use the service over the next 6 months before deciding to renew in May. I do use the truck XM Radio when there is no FM stations available & I'm not listening to an audio book.
After that I sat outside in the shade of the trailer and read. It is 81°F outside & 75°F in the trailer. I finished Connie Willis' To Say Nothing of the Dog, and downloaded her Blackout, Book 1 of the All Clear series.
Around 4:00 I headed for the showers. They have 2 different shower rooms. At the main building there is the standard pair of showers in the men's bathroom. At the far end of the park is a building with 4 family type bathrooms, each with a sink, toilet & shower. There is a 2 person plastic bench & 2 double hooks. A very large shower with a 4" lip between it and the rest of the room. A shower curtain & six small shelves in the shower. A standard mid flow 3" shower head with adjustable temperature. A little water leaks out from under the shower curtain, but the room is so large that you have no problem finding a dry part of the floor. Overall I can't find anything wrong with it and give it an A.
Dinner was left over tacos. Unlike stew & chili, never as good as the first time.
Until Next Time -
