Day 34, Friday, November 21, 2025 - Sunrise RV Park, Deming, NM - 220.1 Miles, 2,764.2 Miles for the Trip
As the evening went on last night I wasn't sure I'd have an easy way to get out in the morning. The sites around me filled up and my site became a pull in but not pull out rather than a pull through. By the time I was ready to leave at 8:30, everyone else but one had left so there was no problem.
A rather dull drive wholly on I 10, in fact I started on I 10 Business loop & ended on a different I 10 Business Loop. Light traffic except for the section around El Paso to Las Cruces. Gas prices in the area are higher as you go west with the exception of a Loves just south of El Paso where with my $.10 discount I paid $2.35 a gallon. Without a headwind, my mileage was 13.2MPG. Somewhere along the way I moved into mountain time so I arrived around 11:45. My weather station clocks have to be manually switched between time zones, while my phone, GPS & laptop do it automatically. That gets me in trouble in Parker & Lake Havasu City because they are so close to the California that the automatic stuff keeps switching back & forth. I usually give up & lock them in manually.
I'm in the Sunrise RV Park, an older park in Deming, NM owned by a 91 year old gentleman that likes to talk. Can't complain about the price - I'm in site 19, a pull through, full hook up site on gravel that requires unhooking the truck & parking it behind the trailer. The site is level. No table/fire pit/grill, but close to the bathrooms for $20.00 per night. While I asked for a reservation a month ago, he said if you only need 30 amps, just come in. Well, as far as I can see, I'm in the only site left. It is mostly a residential park - lots of 200 gallon propane tanks & add ons to sites.

After setting up I headed to Walgreens. I have no idea why, but all but one of the prescriptions was less than my usual copay, even a non-generic that is usually a $60.00 copay that was $27.50. Some were free. Quite a difference from NY where the usual generic copay is $10.00. One thing I don't like is they, like other Walgreens are using very large pill bottles, even for prescriptions that would fit in a much smaller one. Since I keep my pill meds in a small ice chest to try to even out the temperature changes in the trailer, the large bottles don't easily fit. I should have keep some of the small ones from the past, but didn't.
Back at the trailer I did a walk around the RV park then sat inside and read. It is comfortable walking around without a coat or vest at 62°F, but a bit cool for sitting. I ran a speed test for AT&T 23.91Mbps down & 12.07Mbps up.
Dinner was a Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken Bowl.
Until Next Time -
