The Fall salmon run is on in the Oswego River. The water level is just about right; enough that the fish have finally found the mouth of the river, but not so much that most of the river can't be waded. There are also many drift boats, some with guides that cover the river as well. I only saw one boat today, but there are often many tied near the Oswego hydroelectric plant or drifting along the lower river.
There are so many fish in the river that they are often foul hooked when attempting to set a hook during a bite. Everyone I saw was great about putting the foul hooked fish back; it has to be tough to return a fish the size of most of these!
