It is late September and the salmon are running in the Oswego River.

Things are quite different this year. Last year 2 fisherman drowned when swept down the river during high water. The company running the power plant responsible for rapid changing water levels has added a number of signs limiting access to some areas, steel poles that the city fire department damaged their boat on during an exercise, and a number of rafts, 911 poles, etc. In addition, the city has added life saving rings, more signs, and started a program pushing life vests.

None of this has slowed the fishing. Lots of people on the walkways along the river as well as wading below the dam:
