Day 39, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Cheaha State Park, Delta, AL, Day 3 - 0 Miles,1,964.6 Miles for the Trip
Cooler than last night at 44°F. It was a clear night so I went out to check out the stars. Lots of trees, but the real problem was far too many lights at the various sites. I might have done better waiting until midnight, but didn't.
Around 8:00AM I heard dumpsters being dumped. Don't know why it was wasn't at the usual 6:00AM, but during my morning walk I found them (they are not on the campground map) and saw a house boat camper:

The campground has thinned out a bit; now about half full. I discovered that at the dumpsters I can get text messages. Didn't try to send any & no emails downloaded. I also didn't try any web pages. I'll wait on those until this afternoon when I head to town.
I'm at Walmart uploading the last two day's pages & cleaning up another 175 emails. I know I should get rid of some or even most of the junk email I get, but it is usually so easy to dump it when I do my daily morning reading that I don't bother. Times like this is when it gets me.
I also managed to cancel the Hungry Mother reservations, pay for my next 6 months of XM Radio for both the truck & trailer, and download an audio book - Michael Connelly's Resurrection Walk. I did find stuffing (the last box of plain stove top stuffing) and, unfortunately, jar turkey gravy (I prefer the power that you mis with water - actually, I prefer to make it from scratch but with just a turkey breast, that isn't going to happen). So, I should be set for tomorrow.
I did an on line search for StarLink Minis, but no one near by had one in stock. The earliest I could get one was December 3rd, by which time I'll be long gone. I also know that the day I buy one I'll never be without a cell modem connection.
On the way back I stopped at one of the overlooks (there are 2 - this photo is the 1st one heading towards the park). I made a panorama:

After processing the panorama, I read until dinner time.
Since I had a large lunch, dinner was just some chocolate milk, crackers & an ice cream cone for dessert. Doesn't that sound like a healthy dinner?
