Day 47, Thursday, December 5, 2024, Rodman Campground, Palatka, FL - 194.5 Miles, 2,445 Miles for the Trip

A warm night, at least compared to the last few. Down to 45°F. I did a short walk since it was moving day. Met a woman & her golden retriever during my walk. She is in a Tab that is the only other trailer in the park that is smaller than mine.

After breakfast I unplugged the power & headed out around 9:30. Most of the drive was on I 75 and FL 20. Most of FL 20 was 4 lane. I arrived at the campground a little after 2:00.

I'm in site #11, a back in grass & sand site with water & electric, a picnic table & fire ring. Lots of room, particularly behind the trailer. $39.06 per night for 3 nights. They only offer a 1/2 price senior site charge for Florida residents. There is a Scamp a few sites down from me & the bathrooms are down beyond site #1. While the campground is 12 miles from just about anything, it is almost full. There is a boat ramp at the far end.

Me in Site 11 The Scamp Down the Road (Actually a Casita)

I received a comment on the Blogger post of this page letting me know that the trailer above is a Casita, not a Scamp. I should know the difference, but goofed. Thanks for the correction.

AT&T shows 14.4Mbps down & .3Mbps up, Verizon shows 47.2Mbps down & 4.7Mbps up. I set the Starlink Mini on the picnic table that has a bit of pine tree shade & it shows 13.5Mbps down, 14.5Mbps up. While Verizon is the fastest, I've already used 6GB of data since December 2nd, so I'll let it rest & see if the Starlink Mini does the job.

It was 75°F when I arrived, so I spent the afternoon sitting outside reading. Once the sun ducked behind the trees it cooled quickly. First I added a long sleeved shirt, then, eventually moved inside for my afternoon exercises & dinner.

Dinner was a Marie Callender's Sesame Chicken Bowl.

Until Tomorrow -
