Day 48, Friday, December 6, 2024, Rodman Campground, Palatka, FL, Day 2 - 0 Miles, 2,445 Miles for the Trip

Another warm night. The low was 57°F around 6:00AM, although it isn't getting any warmer. In fact, at 11:00 it is down to 55°F. Depending on what app (or the radio) I listen to, it will be below freezing overnight.

During my morning walk I listened to John Sanford's Toxic Prey and after breakfast read some on line forums, and my current book on the Kindle - Believing the Lie by Elizabeth George.

I made an on line reservation for a haircut at SuperCuts for 3:20 this afternoon, hoping that will give the shower enough time to warm up. There was a Publix next door so I picked up some milk yogurt and other essentials, then drove back to the campground 11 miles away in heavy traffic.

Back at the campground on the way to the shower I chatted for a bit with the Casita owner. They are from the Catskills in NY.

There are 2 showers in the men's bathroom, but one is out-of-order. Very large shower with plenty of hot water from a low volume 2" shower head. A soap dish but no shelf in the shower (or drying area). There is a 4" lip between the shower & drying area as well as a shower curtain so very little water gets on the drying area floor. A bench and 1 double hook in the drying area. Overall a solid B; it would be better if the room was a bit warmer. There are what looks like might be 2 heat lamps overhead in the drying area, but the lamps are standard PAR 38's, and the switch on the wall doesn't do anything.

Dinner was a Chef Bombay Chicken Tikka Masala bowl. I can't tell the difference between this an my usual Saffron Road Chicken Tikka Masala. Both make my moustache sweat!

Until Tomorrow -
