Day 138, Thursday, March 6, 2025, High Falls State Park, Jackson, GA - 246.4 Miles, 4,201.4 Miles for the Trip
A cool morning at 45°F. I did a shortened morning walk and a quick breakfast, then finished packing up the trailer and headed for the dump station. I'm done with jumping around the panhandle of Florida and starting the drive north to home. I'm taking over a month to get there, trying to avoid snow & freezing weather.
I headed out of the campground at 9:00. Lots of state roads, then US 19, and finally I 75 (taking the I 475 loop around Macon, GA). I arrived at the campground around 4:00 after crossing into the Eastern Standard Time Zone. I'm in site 35, a water & electric back in site that is long enough for two of my trailers. Needed 1" side to side & 5" drop on the front jack. The site is gravel with a picnic table & firepit next to a bathroom. $31.44 per night with taxes & a 20% senior discount. A large campground with 89 sites spread across a couple of loops in this section and 16 in a lakeside section. I'm here for 11 nights.

After setting up I went for an afternoon walk to replace my shortened morning walk.
At 58°F and a good breeze it wasn't all that comfortable sitting outside although there was lots of sun, so I tried for about an hour. Back inside I found a Georgia NPR station & checked my cell modems for internet speed. AT&T showed 4.2Mbps down & 0Mbps up, and could not connect to a couple of websites I normally visit. Verizon shows 30.88Mbps down & .83Mbps up. I hope I don't need to use Starlink because there is a wall of trees to the north, the direction the Starlink Mine needs to point.
Dinner was a Benihana's Hibachi Chicken & Rice Bowl.
Until Next Time -
