Day 139, Friday, March 7, 2025, High Falls State Park, Jackson, GA, Day 2 - 0 Miles, 4,201.4 Miles for the Trip

A much cooler night, hitting 36°F at 8:00AM. By the time I got around to my morning walk it was up to 38°F; I wore my quilted jacket. Lots of empty sites in the campground; less than half filled.

After breakfast I called in a couple of prescriptions to the nearest Walgreens. They are in McDonough, 24 miles up I 75. I could have gone with a CVS that was closer, but transferring prescriptions usually removes all refills, and is not always a smooth process. By the time they are ready I'll need to do some food shopping anyway.

Saw a sign of spring this morning, a robin. Actually, even in Oswego, 1000 miles to the north, robins are now a year round bird so I guess they don't work as indicators. It is still too cold at night for the hummingbirds - I haven't seen any or even tried a feeder.

After lunch it warmed up enough to sit outside, 69°F by 4:30. I watched the ground crew filling in washed out sections of some of the nearby sites and read - current book is If Tomorrow Comes, the 2nd book of the Yesterday's Kin Trilogy by Nancy Kress. As to audio books, I'm listening to Jeffrey Archer's Heads You Win.

Back in the trailer I flipped the arm in the Lagun table mount to put the stress on less worn fittings. I'll be glad to switch to the EZ-Reach table mount when I get back to Oswego. While the basic design of the Lagun mount is OK, the plastic bearings do not hold up to normal use. I guess it is possible I use my table more than most RVers, but I've had to replace the bearings yearly. When they fail the table ends up well out of plumb making it easy for things to slide off.

Dinner was an Innovasian Orange Chicken Bowl.

Until Next Time -
