Day 158, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Moccasin Creek State Park, Lake Burton, GA, Day 3 - 0 Miles, 4,361.1 Miles for the Trip

Down to 42°F overnight. Lots of sun & 55°F by 11:00. After my morning walk & breakfast I sat in the trailer and read forums & journals.

I received the weight values for a 2017 Scamp 16 Deluxe and added them to the Trailer Weights in the Real World Spreadsheet. This is a spreadsheet version of the long thread at the Fiberglass RV Forum started by Frederick L. Simson. With his permission I keep a downloadable version that can be filtered for trailer make, size, etc.

I decided to hike out to Hemlock Falls. You can either start from the park or drive a half mile to a parking lot at the head of the trail. I opted for driving. Not a terrible mile long waterfall trail; the ones along side the streams at Ricketts Glen in PA are more difficult, but I sure felt my 80 years. Trails with rocks & roots are getting to be a pain because my left eye has pretty much been destroyed by Glaucoma so I have little depth perception. I spend far too much time looking at the stuff in the trail rather than looking at the scenery. I did stop for a couple of photos of cataracts and small falls on the way. I even included one image shot at a fast shutter speed for those that hate silky water shots. The last two images are Hemlock Falls.

After I got back to the trailer I loaded the photos into the laptop & ran them through Lightroom. 62°F outside at 4:18. At least it was cool for the hike. I would rather have had clouds, but the day was/is clear, making the contrast between the white water and the surrounding rocks a bit too much for posting.

After that I read until dinner. I finished David Brin's The Practice Effect and started another of his novels, The Postman. I read both of them in the 80's, but since I remember little of either, for the most part they are new books.

Dinner was an Innovasian Sweet & Sour Chicken Bowl.

Until Next Time -
