Day 172, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Cherry Hill Park, College Park, MD, Day 3 - 0 Miles, 4,970.3 Miles for the Trip
While it didn't go down to the predicted 30°F, it did hit 32°F at 8:00AM. During my morning walk a met a couple of campers that wanted to talk about the Escape trailer. They were not all that happy about their year old stick built. I stopped at the Cafe during my walk and had breakfast. They were closed yesterday, and are only open until 1:00 today. The same building (which is next to the pool) has bathrooms with showers, a sauna, a large laundry room, a game room & a lounge with TV. During my walk I finished listening to Thomas Perry's Pro Bono.
I finished Charles Belfoure's The Fallen Architect yesterday. An interesting book, but blaming the architect rather than the engineer for a failed balcony doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Other than that, a well written book. I started reading his The Paris Architect last night.
After breakfast it was back to the trailer for some forum & journal reading as well as downloaded Rylie Dark's No Way Up audio book.
The original plan was to have Karin & family come to the park for our traditional game of miniature golf, but it is only 46°F at noon, so we may skip the game. Noah's birthday is in a couple of days, but they may bring the presents I sent to the house and open them at the park lounge.
When I first arrived, AT&T looked good at 40.03Mbps down & 15.25Mbps up, but today it is very slow, particularly on looking up a new site. Depending on the tree cover, I might disappear for the next 4 days. My Trip Wizard app shows no AT&T or Verizon in the park. If I can see north without too much blockage, I'll use the Starlink Mini.
Karin called around 2:30, and after she picks up the Noah from school they will all head over here to play at the game room & open her presents in the lounge. We decided that even with the sunshine & low wind, it is still a bit cool at 50°F for miniature golf.
Since it was a gathering a day early for Noah's birthday and she wanted to play miniature golf, we did. With the sun it wasn't too cold and we had a good time. We stopped by the trailer for a photo. Brian did a remote with his phone and watch so all of us could be in the picture:

After that it was off to the game room, then to the lounge to open presents:

Karin also sent me a photo from last night's dinner:

By then it was 6:00 so they headed home & I hit the trailer. I hooked up since it is suppose to be raining in the morning. The truck just fits in the site after I backed up the trailer well off the gravel.
Dinner was a Saffron Road Chicken Masala bowl.
Until Next Time -
