Antelope Canyon AZI've been on a cross country trip and took enough photographs at Hanging Lake in Colorado to devote a page to it.
I visited the park July 22, 2011. For more information about the location, parking, and the hike, check Dayhikes Near Denver or Local Hikes. The only access is an exit on the east bound section of I70. Just a note - you can't get back on east bound I70 when you leave the parking lot - the only choice is west bound. There is a exit a couple of miles away where you can cross over.
The Hanging Lake trail is about 1.2 miles long, and gains 1000' over the distance. It is labeled as moderate or difficult, and while it does not require rock climbing, you are either scrambling over rocks or steep paths. That said, it is well worth the visit. The stream from the lake runs along most of the trail, and provides views of many cascades & small waterfalls (and a good excuse to stop for a break!)
